Another Reason to Love Obama

As if Bodhi needed one. But not only is "The Wire" Obama's favorite show, according to the Las Vegas Sun, but Omar is his favorite character:

To Bodhi, this shows Obama can look beyond labels and stereotypes to appreciate the hidden attributes of a complex character, and admire a man with a strict code of ethics. Huzzah, Mr. Obama.

Hillary's Bucket of Warm Spit

Bodhi thinks she wants it, and that's what she's doing right now. Hillary is running for vice-president. She's campaigning with one person in mind...Obama. She wants to prove to him that while he may have won the nomination, he can't win in November without her. Now, Bodhi believes that Obama will win in November no matter what. It's going to be a 1996, Clinton v. Dole kind of election--but even more of a landslide for Obama. But Bodhi would love to see Hillary on the ticket. It would energize everyone who has been so thrilled with the primary season, watching Hillary and Obama win twice as many votes as the GOP candidates and raise twice as much money. Come on, Barry--ask the lady to dance.

Reaping What You Sow

When Hillary Clinton invoked the name of Robert Kennedy while talking to the Argus Leader, she didn't mean to suggest anything untoward would happen to Barack Obama. Even Mr. Obama believes that. But the problem is, if the situation had been reversed, Mrs. Clinton wouldn't have been so open minded with Mr. Obama (see Obama's comments about Ronald Reagan.) While it's upsetting to see so many jump on Clinton for her remarks, remarks in which she meant no ill will, it seems kind of appropriate in the climate she's created. Because of this climate (one in which John McCain seems quite comfortable) you take down your opponent any chance you get. But as we're all learning, it just makes the attacker seem petty, and the subject look like the picture of grace and leadership when he rises above it all. And this coming from someone who voted for Hillary.

Bodhi's Thought for the Day

"The society which scorns excellence in plumbing as a humble activity and tolerates shoddiness in philosophy because it is an exalted activity will have neither good plumbing nor good philosophy: neither its pipes nor its theories will hold water." - John W. Gardner

Won't You Come Home, Bill Clinton?

What Bodhi is going to say will be controversial, he knows. But he's just got to say it anyway. Bill Clinton knows what he's doing! He's not crazy, or going off the rails, or coming from left field. He is facing a mountain of criticism from reporters and commentators alike, saying how he's hurting his party, how the battles he's getting into with Obama are hurting his wife, that this might scare away voters, blah, blah, blah. Let's get one thing clear. Bill Clinton is the only Democrat to win two presidential elections since FDR. The only one. Even though Bodhi isn't fond of the name-calling, one has to assume Bill knows what he's doing.
Make no mistake-- Bodhi really likes Hillary AND Barack. But he also knows the Clintons understand the game of American politics better than just about anyone. Better than any of the Republicans bidding for the top spot this year. And he's willing to suffer the nastiness for a few months if it means we get a Democrat in the White House again.

Huck Bashes Doggie-Style

Huckabee has equated gay marriage to bestiality. As a beast himself, Bodhi is here to say Huck is out to lunch. If ten-percent of the population is gay, is it wise to have a leader who views 30 million Americans in such abhorrent terms?
Here's a link to Huck's comments:

If It Ain't Barack, Don't Fix it

Bodhi is not one to toot his own horn, although he does enjoy licking himself now and then. But when he was watching the results of the Iowa Caucuses last night, he hearkened back to a post he wrote in November, and thought..."Good boy, Bodhi!"

Here's the post:
